Pulling back the curtain on Ivars Fountain
Written by Popa

PHOENIX SQUARE, GCA.

So many Aardwolfians spend their time just a few steps from this, the most magnificent fountain and part time watering hole of our fine city, Aylor. Once used by fresh adventurers to the realm, it now sits in disuse. The seasoned adventurer, looking for more substance to their drink prefers juices and milks as opposed to water. No longer do they have need for the simple water provided by this lonely fountain. New adventurers do not recognize who the fountain portrays, nor are they even aware he sits on his throne just a few blocks away.

For those unaware, or perhaps illiterate, the man on the fountain is Ivar. He is the creator of Aylor. While all know where he was before he built this city, many wonder where he was prior to that. What inspired his building of this city, and why did that warrant him a statue? Why are his chix he is so often seen with not represented? How many heroes have sat at its edge and drank from its nigh limitless source of water without recognizing the man How many heroes have sat at its edge and drank from its nigh limitless source of water without recognizing the man it portrayed, or what he has built?it portrayed, or what he has built? It is my intent to answer those, and hopefully more questions. Even I can remember back to my first days here in Aylor, dying of thirst; the fountain was there even back then, providing succor to those in need.

I was tasked with the impossible task of interviewing the fountain of Aylor's founder. To prepare for my interview I decided to do some research on the fountains creators and inspiration. I spent a night in town looking to find out more about it. Most of the passersby were too engaged in running to their
destination to stop and listen to my questions. Reading the signage near the fountain yielded little help as well. I ventured into Ivars temple, but he was only interested in speaking about auction fees.

With my sources turning up nothing useful, I was left standing unprepared before the fountain. However, it seems that did not matter. As it turns out, the fountain is like most other objects in that it isn't alive and cannot carry on in conversation.
